THE IDEA
Intelligensicus raises the intelligence of wild animal populations and lets them keep the gain across their own generations. It begins in the sea, with the octopus. A wild octopus enters a clear box in its own water, sees the ocean around it the whole time, solves a puzzle of levers and tools, earns a meal, and swims free a little more capable than it arrived. Repeat across many coves and many years, and a wild population becomes measurably smarter, holding new knowledge of its own making. The enclosures are built to be habitat, so the water is richer for their being there.
WHY IT WORKS
Intelligence rises when a population gains abundance, spare time, and the room to work problems out. The method is scaffolding. You help an animal author a better version of a behavior it already performs, so the gain is its own to keep and to teach. Two facts prove the ground is solid. The silver-fox experiment bred tameness, heritably, within a handful of generations. A wild baboon troop was documented adopting and holding a new culture, passed to newcomers years later. The ocean's minds are ready: the octopus problem-solves with five hundred million neurons and dreams in its sleep; the cuttlefish waits for a better meal; dolphins pass tool use down the maternal line.

No one has built this at scale. It needs three things a serious ocean-science partner already has: research vessels for the coves and the long voyages, cohorts of graduate and undergraduate researchers to run the outposts, and a platform to publish and be seen. Intelligensicus brings the program, the method, and the science. A vessel-and-media partner brings the reach. Together the result is the first deliberate effort to add co-intelligent life to the sea, and it doubles as conservation, because every task is aimed at survival and at reducing conflict with people.
